Coaxial cables are mainly used to carry radio signals, video signals, measurement signals and data signals. Telecommunication companies, cable TV operators and computer network providers prominently make use of these cables.
Co-axial cable is called "coaxial" because it includes one physical channel that carries the signal surrounded by another concentric physical channel, both running along the same axis.
